Candidacy: List

EXCESSIVELY OILY SKIN

Excessively oily skin may fade pigment faster + may not retain color as well as someone with dry skin. Because of this, it can cause a blurring effect of microbladed hairstrokes, which results in a more powdery appearance. Be sure to mention if this is your skin type upon contacting me. And don't be bummed, there are other options if microblading isn't right for you! Lets talk about it!

VERY THIN OR MATURE SKIN

Very thin or matured skin tends to be more sensitive + prone to easy bleeding during microblading. Shaded techniques are more gentle + may be more appropriate - this will be suggested accordingly. Skin health is always taken into consideration, no matter your age!

PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING

Great precaution is taken when it comes to the health of you + your baby. Because safety is top priority, pregnancy + breastfeeding, I cannot provide permanent makeup to you during pregnancy or breastfeeding. In addition, hormones may take time to settle + can potentially interfere with your results. Please wait to schedule your appointment at least 3 months after you stop breastfeeding and/or deliver. Be sure to let me know when that time comes, I couldn't be more excited to offer you a well deserved pick-me-up!

AUTO IMMUNE DISORDERS

As with any procedure, having an autoimmune disorder may not come without risks in permanent makeup. Because your body may be in a compromised state, your immune system may have a difficult time accepting + healing from permanent makeup. I'm happy to discuss your health. Clearance from your physician will be requested.

CHEMOTHERAPY

Cancer sucks. And when you beat it, I'll be here waiting. Please allow at least 6 months post-chemo and/or radiation to schedule your appointment. You'll walk into this studio a survivor + walk out with the beautiful permanent makeup you deserve + earned.

RECENT BOTOX

Relaxxx! You can still have your Botox, you just need to take a little break! Because Botox (and the like) relax your muscles to diminish wrinkles, chances are, your brows aren't in their natural position. Allowing your Botox to wear off for 3 months for your appointment + again for your touch-up will ensure we have placed your brows in the right place!

BLOOD THINNERS/BLEEDING DISORDERS

If you are currently receiving blood thinning therapy and/or have a bleeding disorder, unfortunately, your pigment will not retain. Due to the increase in bleeding during the service, the pigment is pushed back out of the space we are trying to place it. Bummer.

TANNED OR BURNED SKIN

UV rays are the true enemy of permanent cosmetics AND your skin. Firstly, UV rays change the health + color of your skin making it impossible to choose the correct pigment color. You must allow your skin to heal from sunburn + be without change in skin tone for 1 month prior to your appointment (*includes spray tanning). NO exceptions! Secondly, your skin will be much more sensitive + fragile during the service causing discomfort.

KELOIDS OR HYPERTROPHIC SCARRING

If you are prone to keloid or hypertrophic scarring, permanent makeup should be avoided. Invasive treatments to the skin require a smooth healing process for the best outcome. If this may be a risk for you, I may ask to see previously healed injuries or incisions to help decide.

ANTI-AGING OR ANTI-ACNE THERAPIES

THIS ONE IS SO IMPORTANT!! To receive permanent makeup, you must take a break from ALL anti-aging/anti-acne skin care + medications (oral and/or topical) for at least 1 month prior to your appointment + refrain from them during your healing process. NO Accutane (prescription acne medication) for at least 1 year prior to your appointment. Use of these therapies encourage skin cell turnover, therefore, causing sensitive skin, thinner skin + faster skin cell renewal. This means the pigment will not enter your skin correctly + the pigment will not stay during the healing phase! Once healed, these therapies may be resumed BUT they must be avoided near the tattoo to avoid premature fading or color change.

LASER OR SKIN RESURFACING THERAPIES

Please stop all laser or skin resurfacing therapies at least 1 month prior to your appointment. These types of treatments encourage cell renewal, therefore, your skin will be more sensitive + prone to shedding your pigment during the healing process. Once healed, you may resume these therapies but be sure to protect your tattoo during your treatments.

PLEASE NOTE:

-Diabetes: medications may alter metabolism of pigment causing sooner fading.

-Thyroid Disorders: medications may alter metabolism of pigment causing sooner fading.

-Trichotillomania: plucking of hairs within the tattooed area will also pull pigment out.

-Frequent Tanning: will fade + change the pigment color.

-Excessive Sweating: salt in sweat can lighten your permanent makeup sooner.
